Danish Days in Solvang for 2013

For 77 years Solvang has hosted Danish Days.
It is a great end of summer activity each year.

Here is our condensed version of the events.


Friday Night, September 20 -
4:00 pm
Free Concert featuring Sonny Semler in Solvang Park Gazebo, Mission Drive at First Street, downtown.
7:30 pm  
Torchlight Parade beginning on Alisal Road at Laurel Street and ending at Solvang Park followed by 8:00pm      
Opening Ceremonies introducing 2013 Danish Maid. Velkommen Street Dance follows with Danish dancers performing to live music.

8:00pm

Saturday, September 21-
8:30am-12:30pm        
æbleskiver Breakfast on Copenhagen Drive & First Street for $7 (with Danish sausage, $8).

Free Aebleskiver Eating Contest (corner of Copenhagen Drive & First Street)

2:30pm   
Danish Days Parade includes the Solvang Village Band atop the Carlsberg Beer Wagon, the Solvang Village Dancers, Solvang Village Singers & more. Begins at Old Mission Santa Ines, west on Mission Drive, south on Fourth Place, east on Copenhagen Drive to Alisal Road.

6:00-11:00pm       
Danish Days Dinner Dance sponsored by the Rebild National Park Society at Solvang Veterans Hall, 1745 Mission Drive. Tickets $48 per person, reservations required, call Erik Pedersen at 805-688-1535.
